Dr. Hategan is Board-Certified in Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine. After graduating medical school in 1984 and completing three years of an internship, Dr. Hategan chose to specialize in Otorhinolaryngology (Ears, Nose, Throat). She worked as an ENT surgeon for 8 years in Romania. In 2000, Dr. Hategan moved to the United States and in 2003 entered her Psychiatry Residency at EVMS in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2007, she moved to Oregon to complete a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University. While building her own practice in Oregon, Dr. Hategan worked at Cedar Hills Hospital and the Oregon State Hospital. From 2014-2022, Dr. Hategan was the Medical Director of Lifeline Connections in Vancouver, WA until resigning to solely focus on her private practice. Dr. Hategan also has extensive experience working in the federal prison system.
