Dr. Hategan is Board-Certified in Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine. After graduating medical school in 1984 and Dr. Hategan completed a three years of an internship specializing in Otorhinolaryngology (Ears, Nose, Throat). In Romania she worked as an ENT surgeon for 11 years including ENT emergency room rotations. In 2000, Dr. Hategan moved to the United States and in 2003 entered her Psychiatry Residency at EVMS in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2007, she moved to Oregon to complete a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University. While building her own practice in Oregon, Dr. Hategan worked at Cedar Hills Hospital and the Oregon State Hospital. Dr. Hategan completed her third board certification in Addiction Medicine in 2012 and was the 3rd office in Oregon to offer TMS therapy. From 2014-2022, Dr. Hategan was the Medical Director of Lifeline Connections in Vancouver, WA until resigning to solely focus on her private practice. Dr. Hategan also has extensive experience working in the federal prison system.
